Hi Sunshine’s,

Hope you are doing well today ad enjoying your sunny Sunday! I felt like sharing another get-away tip with you for the Stockholm area and a TIP for (future) travelers to Stockholm:
If you would like to experience the Archipelago of Stockholm (the world heritage islands), an easy and quick visit would be to go to Storholmen. This island is one of the closest islands around Stockholm and only a 25-minute ferry from Ropsten (Ostermalm).

This island has the perfect mix of Scandinavian holiday vibes with its rocky landscape, woods, colored wooden houses, and many jetties with boats.
On this island, you will find 150 (holiday) homes of Swedes with beautiful gardens. Some houses offer a guest-house which you can book on Airbnb. We booked this one. It had an amazing view and all the comfort you need.

The island is car-free and therefore perfect for walks, runs, and a swim. When Summer arrives, this could be your perfect spot to kayak or go fishing as well. But most of all: you can enjoy a calm environment that is perfect for writing, reading, and meditation.

Hungry or thirsty during your stay?

The island doesn’t have a grocery store so I would recommend you to bring some groceries from the city. But, if you like, the island does have a tremendous restaurant with sea-view and the most delicious offer of fish dishes, meat dishes, and local vegetarian meals. I enjoyed a beautiful sunset while eating the most delicious smoked scrimps and complemented by a glass of cava.

Planning a stay?

I would recommend going on a long weekend or a mid-week. But if you like, you can also do a day trip or just stay on the island for a few hours.
The ferries run every 1-2 hours by SL and you can use your metro card to get on board – easy and affordable!

With love, E
