Today its #menstrualhygieneday and therefore I’d like to highlight the importance of the commitment to fight Period Poverty: let’s make sure everyone worldwide has access to the resources they need to take care of their menstrual health adequately💗

No one should stay home, have lack of hygiene, feel socially isolated or be excluded from participation in today’s society because of their period😔

How cool and adjustable is this inspiration-wall in the office, made out of cork✨? We got it from @kurk24nl

Our meeting room looked quiet nice already, but the walls were still empty and most of all: the room echoed a lot!📢 Something we don’t like when you take the room to talk or have a call with a business partner📞👩🏼‍💻

With this inspiration wall added, each meeting now has room for ideas, thoughts, visuals and lots of samples💭 Its a real-life Pinterest board now📌 And above all, there is room to talk without any echo😅 I love the solution cork gave us!

Last week, we launched the Love Stories x Social P

Last week, we launched the Love Stories x Social Period collaboration 🩸🌍

In the fight against Period Poverty worldwide, Love Stories partnered with @afripadsfoundation in Uganda, as well as with @socialperiod , a non-profit organization that is doing incredible work in Germany and The Netherlands.
In Amsterdam only, more than 20% of women has difficulties to afford Menstrual Products.

Together with @socialperiod Love Stories aims to raise awareness for this problem by educating their Love Stories clients, as well as collecting period products for those in need and raising funds.

This month, you can donate period products in their beautiful boutiques in Germany and The Netherlands. The store teams will tell you more about Social Period and the possibility of supporting the organization financially. Let’s make a positive impact together💗

I am incredibly proud to be contributing to both collaborations to fight Period Poverty worldwide and especially thankful for @annajacobsams in realizing this successful in-store launch-event with me, including an interview with Social Period on their work as well as serving Bloody Mary’s and running a tombola to raise funds🍸🎟️

🇳🇱NL: Nee, dit beeld verraadt niet dat ik de nieuwe kandidate van Boer Zoekt Vrouw ben👩🏼‍🌾 Maar het toont wel hoe blij je kunt worden van vrijwilligerswerk in de buitenlucht, nu de lente eindelijk in aantocht is☀️Het kan zo’n verademing zijn om voor vrijwilligerswerk naar buiten te gaan, of om iets met je handen te doen! Zeker als je in het dagelijks leven vooral je koppie gebruikt🧠

Omdat het deze week mega-lekker lenteweer wordt🌷🌼, heb ik de leukste activiteiten in de buitenlucht voor je uitgezocht:

1. Wandeling met ouderen van De Kastanjehof in Amsterdam met @nlcares (14 april)
2. Rondje plastic prikken (Clean-Up) in het park met De Diaconie (via NL Cares - 14 april)
3. Helpen bij stadsboerderij 👩🏼‍🌾De Schildershoeve in Den Haag (zondags, via NL Cares)
4. Een moestuin aanleggen bij De VerbroederIJ in Noord, via @amsterdamimpact
5. Voetbaltraining voor kinderen met een beperking in Utrecht via Forza Friends⚽️ @dvsuforzafriends (op zaterdagen)
6. Tuinieren en schilderen in A’dam West met @servethecity.amsterdam (15 april)
7. Zaaien en Oogsten bij de Koningshof in Utrecht🪴via NLcares (15 april en meer data)
8. Samen met ouderen naar de Keukenhof🌷met STC (15 april)
9. Helpen op de kinderboerderij in het Rembrandtpark🐐met STC (15 april)

What I always find cool to share, is that I met Nel during my very first week of doing volunteer work (EVER) in 2018. I started with my first activities and one of them was walking with elderly in Westerpark. I got the chance to accompany Nel and I liked her goofy and optimistic character soo much - I’ve sticked around ever since✨ I try to visit her as much as I possibly can. She doesn’t get visits very often, so people sometimes think I am her grand daughter in the house;-) I always get treated with a hug when I leave and a ‘Tot snel’👋🏻

It’s amazing how many of you respond to my Stories with Nel - she has a lot of fans here - therefore Nel now now has her own highlight🔝

OOTD: what to wear when you volunteer✨

As I’ll be volunteering in an elderly home today, I choose for an outfit in a bold color to brighten up the day a little bit. They always love it💕

I picked a suit in a super comfortable fabric, so moving will be easy🕺🏼 Choosing for sneakers is always smart, because you’ll never know how much you’ll be walking or standing😉 I usually accessorize according to my outfit.
I always bring my phone-cord, so I can leave my bag somewhere and have my phone with me at all times🤳

There’s something important I forgot to bring though, which for me can be an essential to bring for volunteer work. Can you guess💭?
